Aligning Ecological & Financial Returns

The Clean Water Act and other longstanding environmental laws in the U.S. seek to balance the demand for economic development with the need to protect our nation’s land and water resources. The laws that require this balance create demand for efficient and effective forms of compliance. Increasingly, project developers are satisfying their environmental offset needs by purchasing credits from mitigation banks that are completed in advance of impacts.

Ecosystem Investment Partners invests in large-scale ecological restoration projects that meet this growing demand. Our environmental investing initiatives satisfy our customers’ mitigation needs through the use of private conservation finance capital.

Environmental Investing Leaders

Founded in 2006, EIP is the leading private investment firm focused on land-based environmental offset markets. We acquire properties with degraded aquatic resources or species habitats, restore them according to the highest standards and ensure they are permanently protected. Through this process, we generate and bank wetland, stream and endangered species mitigation credits. We then sell these credits to public and private permittees who must offset unavoidable ecological impacts from projects in:

• Transportation
• Real Estate Development
• Energy
• Public Infrastructure

Working closely with the public agencies and nonprofit organizations responsible for oversight and stewardship of land and water resources, EIP designs and implements projects that address regional conservation and restoration goals at a meaningful scale.
