Q&A with Joann
What prepared you for this line of work?
My background is a unique blend of both fund accounting and corporate accounting, which many accountants do not have. That blended experience has been especially useful and has allowed me to bring a solid foundation of experience and ideas to my new position at EIP. I have always been interested in environmental accounting, and even took a sustainability accounting course while obtaining my masters. Once I learned about the Company’s mission, I couldn’t imagine myself anywhere else.
What excites you about EIP’s impact in the world?
I never thought that as an accountant, I could sit behind my computer and truly feel like I am having a positive impact on the world through my work. You typically think of doctors, nurses, teachers, and other similar jobs being those who are out there ‘saving the world,’ but I feel that way as an accountant for EIP!
