SWAMP FOX MITIGATION BANK is located in Marion County, Georgia, within the Kinchafoonee-Muckalee watershed in the Southeastern Plains region. Situated in the Southeastern Plains region, it includes streams and the surrounding natural areas along Ridge Creek and its tributaries.
The restoration plan for this site focuses on improving the health of these waterways by removing four impoundments, rebuilding stream channels to follow their natural paths, and planting native riparian vegetation. These efforts will help undo damage caused by past agricultural and logging practices. The project will also protect high-quality stream-wetland complexes in the upper parts of the watershed.
