Q&A with Joel
What was your path to EIP?
I was introduced to EIP by a third party while searching for a new job in 2020. I knew I wanted to enter the private equity (PE) space as I felt PE provided an opportunity for a career where one could have a direct impact to the portfolio companies/project while also generating positive returns for investors. When I was connected to EIP, I knew that it was the right ‘home’ for me based on the mission to deliver high quality ecological restoration and conservation projects.
What prepared you for this line of work?
My background is a unique blend of government accounting and financial services corporate accounting. Having experiences across these industries has given me a strong foundation to understand financial and regulatory reporting requirements. In both of my prior roles, sustainability and environment were present. EIP felt like a perfect match to allow me to grow and combine those experiences, while also allowing me to feel as though I am giving back to the community through the work being done.
